Hall of Fame Nomination Procedure
Purpose:
To recognize outstanding contributions from individuals whom have promoted Minnesota High School Girls' Volleyball.
Criteria:
1. Nominees must have demonstrated dedication and standards to the highest degree available for high school girls' volleyball. All nominees will be judged on their significant and/or long-term commitment to the sport of high school volleyball in Minnesota. While many have served at their schools/areas of expertise over a lengthy and distinguished career, their accomplishments must have been worthy of statewide recognition for consideration. Longevity, without meaningful statewide impact, does not necessarily constitute credentials for Hall of Fame consideration.
2. Nominees must be active or retired coaches whom were or currently are MNVBCA members and have coached a minimum of 10 years of varsity volleyball in Minnesota with a combined total of 15 years coaching girls' volleyball OR are non-high school coaches whom have made major contributions promoting Minnesota High School Girls' Volleyball. Examples include, but are not restricted to: trainers, referees, Olympic-level athletes, writers, broadcasters, sport pioneers, public address announcers, junior high coaches, association contributors, etc.
Nomination Process:
1. Submit information via the electronic form linked above. Submission information includes nominee name, school(s), and contact info. Biographical information, accolades, and letters of recommendation are requested, but not required.
2. Up to three letters of recommendation can be sent to Hall of Fame Coordinator Jeff Groves (jeff.groves@district196.org) before the submission deadline (June 1st) to aid in the nomination process.
3. Nominations must be submitted by June 1st of each year.
4. A 2/3 vote of approval by the BOC is needed for acceptance. Nominations not selected shall remain on the ballot for five years. At that time, they will need to be re-nominated to remain on the ballot.
5. The number of inductees should not exceed five per year.
6. All recipients will be contacted by October 10th.
7. Hall of Fame ceremony will be coordinated with the All-State Banquet prior to the state tournament.
